This rear dining room extension was built to allow a larger dining area in an existing dining kitchen. As you can see even though the extension was only 3 metres by 4 metres there is ample floor area for a large six seater dining table and still be able to access the patio doors. By adding veluxe rooflights whithin a vaulted traditional roof type it created a light and airy space that offers a higher insulation value than a conservatory roof at a nominal extra cost. There was no planning permission required as the extension was built under permitted development rights but did require building regulation approval as the work continued. The wall between the kitchen and the new extension was removed to create a more open plan family area.

The extension was complemented externally with a new raised decking area and fence
